MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembly and installation: Use tools to assemble and install parts into wind turbines.
- Adjustment and alignment: Make sure parts fit properly by adjusting them and connecting wires and tubes.
- Fasten and join: Secure parts using tools like bolts and rivets.
- Test equipment: Check electrical and electronic equipment to make sure it works properly.
- Material handling: Move and arrange parts using cranes or other lifting devices.
- Technology use: Use computers and other digital tools to check and fix wind turbine systems.
DAILY TASKS
- Fix problems with the turbine parts.
- Check and maintain wind turbine components.
- Keep track of work done and report any issues.
- Work with the team to plan and carry out maintenance.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Education: A high school diploma, including Grade 12 math is required. It’s also helpful to know about electrical and mechanical systems, especially for wind turbines.
- Training and certification: You’ll need training in things like hydraulics (systems that use liquids to do work), electronics, wiring, electrical equipment, and safety for working at heights or in tight spaces.
